These terms apply to fictionsbyaj.com, operated by Fictions by Aj (Aj Castelletto) from Illinois, United States. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What this site is
The site provides information about Aj Castelletto, Fictions by Aj, books, events, and related notes. It is an author website. It is not a storefront, bank, or publisher dashboard for other people’s titles.
Intellectual property
Unless a page says otherwise, website text, original artwork, illustrations, photographs, logos, branding, and book-related materials are owned by or used with permission by Fictions by Aj / Aj Castelletto, or belong to their respective rights holders.
Amazon, X, and other third parties own their names, logos, and sites. Linking to them is not a claim that they own Fictions by Aj, or that Fictions by Aj owns them.
You may read this site, follow its links, and send a genuine Event Suggestion. That ordinary personal use is allowed. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or commercially use protected material from this site without permission, except as a law already allows, including fair use. These terms do not try to take away rights you already have under copyright law.
Book and event information
Descriptions, availability, prices, formats, release dates, retailer stock, and event details can change. Third-party prices, shipping, and inventory are not guaranteed here. “Aj-stated” dates are what Aj has said publicly; retailers may show something different.
Book pages include creative descriptions of stories. Those passages are about the books. They are not independent reviews, awards, or sales claims.
Third-party websites
Links to Amazon, X, FormSubmit (used behind the Event Suggestion form), Google Analytics, CookieYes (the consent box), Mailchimp (the email list), event venues, radio streams, and other sites leave this website or receive information as described in the Privacy Policy. Fictions by Aj does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, privacy practices, availability, security, or transactions. Read their terms and privacy policies before you use them.
No purchases on this site
At present, this website does not process payments, checkout, shipping, refunds, or paid subscriptions. Buying a book happens on Amazon or another retailer you choose. Those purchases are governed by that retailer’s terms, privacy policy, and customer policies, not by these terms.
Accuracy
Reasonable care is taken to keep information current. The site may still contain errors, omissions, or pages that have not caught up with a retailer or event change.
Email list
The email list is for people who are 18 or older. It is used to send a welcome PDF of the first three chapters of The Archive of the Unfound after you confirm your signup, and to send occasional newsletters, offers, and promotions from Fictions by Aj. By subscribing, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you are under 18, do not subscribe.
Unsubscribing will follow the instructions in those emails and in the Privacy Policy.
User submissions
If you send an Event Suggestion, you are responsible for the information you provide and for having the right to share it. Do not submit another person’s private information without a good reason to do so. Do not submit a child’s personal information. Do not use the form to send malware, spam, or unlawful content.
Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available.” Fictions by Aj does not promise that the site will always be uninterrupted, complete, or free of errors. Nothing here is legal, medical, or financial advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fictions by Aj and Aj Castellettoare not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or from following a third-party link, including purchases on retailer sites. Some places do not allow certain limits. In those places, the limit applies only as far as the law allows. These terms do not limit liability that a law says cannot be limited.
Misuse
If you misuse the site, try to break its security, scrape it in an abusive way, or submit unlawful content, you may be asked to stop. Ordinary reading, linking, and sending a genuine event suggestion are not treated as misuse.
If you submit unlawful content or attack the site, you agree to cover reasonably foreseeable harm that conduct causes to Fictions by Aj / Aj Castelletto, to the extent a court would allow. This is not a blanket promise that ordinary visitors must pay for everything that might go wrong on the internet.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without using conflict-of-law rules to reach a different result, except where a mandatory law of another place applies. These terms do not require every dispute to be heard only in Illinois if another venue is required by law.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The effective date at the top will change when they are. The current version applies to later visits.
